Créé par Eric et Nicole Pellerin en 1947, agrandi par leurs enfants Marie-Noëlle et Guillaume, l'exceptionnel jardin botanique du château de Vauville occupe plus de 40 000m².  Jardin permanent constitué d'arbres et d'arbustes à feuuillage persistant en provenance de l'hémisphère austral, utilisant les formes naturelles du terrain, le jardin botanique du château de Vauville fourmille d'echiums pinana, d'eucalyptus, d'aloès, et de centaines de palmiers s'épanouissant de façon inattendue créant une étonnante atmosphère sub tropicale à 300 m de la mer.
Abritant plus de 500 espèces de l'hémisphère austral, le jardin entoure le château de Vauville d'une ambiance subtropicale tout à fait surprenante.  Succession de chambres de verdure, bénéficiant d'une orientation originale, tourné à 180 degrés sur la mer toute proche, le jardin botanique de Vauville, en plus d'une collection scientifique reconnue, forme l'écrin original du château de Vauville, joyau de l'architecture du Cotentin.
Le jardin botanique de Vauville a été inscrit à l'Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments historiques en 1992 et classé 'jardin remarquable' en 2004.

Created in 1947 by Eric and Nicole Pellerin, the exceptional Botanical gardens of Chateau de Vauville cover more than 4 hectares (10 acres).  Using to its best advantage the natural lay of the lad, the basic framework is composed of evergreen trees and bushes which stay in leaf the year round.  Aloes, Echium pinana, Palm trees, and Dimorphoteca flourish in open-air situations.  In constant evolution, the garden is the fruit of endless work, expertise and passion.
Surrounding the chateau, the gardens contain more than 500 different species of plants from the Southern hemisphere which create a surprising tropical atmosphere.  Considered as a valuable scientific collection, the Botanical Gardens of Vauville are also the unique setting for the chateau, a jewel of Contentin architecture.
The Botanical Gardens were registered in the French National Historical Monument's list in 1992 and classified "Jardin remarquable" in 2004.
